OpenStudy (falco276):

Which statement explains why the United States did not enter World War II until directly attacked by Japan? Isolationist sentiment was strong in the United States. The United States did not have vital economic interests involved. Public sentiment was evenly divided about which side to support. Military leaders did not think the United States was prepared for war.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most of the US population did not want to enter a war that had not yet affected them. Therefore the government could not directly enter without disapproval of the majority of the population, until Pearl Harbor. After the attack on the US, citizens wanted vengeance, allowing the government to enter the war without criticism.

OpenStudy (falco276):

Is it A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am about 80% sure its A. But it also could be C. American citizens did not want to be apart of the war therefore the government had to follow by that, yet the US government did not want to get involved with a country that didn't affect them, so I am not sure.
