Only two forces act on an object (mass = 3.80 kg), as in the drawing. (F = 51.0 N.) Find the magnitude and direction (relative to the x axis) of the acceleration of the object.

F=ma so 51.0N=3.80kg (a) so 51.0/3.8= acceleration. it will be positive as well. so positive x or going right
a=13.42m/s (squared) according to my math. thus its positive because a negative sing is not associated with the force, accelration or mass.
N= kg*m /s (squared) when you divide 51.0 kg*m/s (squared)/3.8kg, kg's cancel and m/s squared is a unit of acceleration.
