Can someone please explain to me how to solve an equation with variables on both sides? Ex. 4-t=3(t-1)-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so what you want to do is try to first go through each mathematical operation (in order of paranthesis, exponents, x and / left to write and + and - left to write. and combine like terms on each side of the = sign)... So could you simplify the right side of this equation really quickly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would it become t=7(t-6)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok 3(t-1)-5 the 3 is touching the paranthesis so that means it is distributing the 3 to the other terms inside of the sis. So it is 3t-3-5 so the right hand side it 3t-8
