Science question but completely math application
The spectrum line shows at 35 cm and the transmission diffraction grating is 95 cm from the light source spectrum tube. If the distance between lines on the diffraction grating is 1700nm what is the wavelength of this yellow light in nm?
Use n*wavelength=D*sin theta?
How to apply it in that formula, solving for wavelength?
wavelength=dsintheta/n
Thanks! So would it be 95*sin theta/35? What would sine be? @Nameless
I dont now how to approach this problem, im sorry.
Its ok, thanks for looking.
so this light comes out of a tube.. a spectrum and defracts and you want to find the measurements of one of the sides of the triangle?
maybe for theta you could use arcsin(wavelength/grating element (1/n))
True. But we have not even discussed that in class. I am hesitant to try it.
ok lol, ill stop trying to help with somehting I know nothing about :)
