why are orange trees sprayed with water before a frost comes? having to do with temperature, hydrogen bonds, and crystal lattice. Please help.

Just a guess, but oranges contain citric acid, which is acidic. Perhaps they spray water on them in order for the acid to bond with the water, making them able to withstand the frost?
