Bungles the Clown is giving away balloons to the children at the school carnival. He has 10 red balloons, 7 green balloons, 11 blue balloons, 14 yellow balloons, and 8 purple balloons. Bungles randomly chooses a balloon to give to each child. What is the probability that Bungles will select a yellow balloon?

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Well if you add all of them together there are 42 balloons total

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

What I did is that I divided 42 by the number of yellow balloons, which is 14

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

42/14 = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eh... confused.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

lol hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Do you have choices? I got 14%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are fractions. Not percentage :/

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

ahh 14/42

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Just add the total and put the amount of yellow balloons as the numerator and the sum as the denominator.
