Anyone questions?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Guys any history questions? (i can answer other than history as well)

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Does 7 up have Biblical allusions?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

i don't get your question...

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

My profile photo you mean?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Is that a question based on my profile?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

As any unhealthy drink it has to do directly w/ the "Torah"! ( do you know what "Torah" is? )

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

GuyZ

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

what can I do for you guys?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Its actually about advertisement methods. In 1909 the first pre-rolled cigarette came on the market and they called it camel. At this period of time the KJB Bible was well known and it reference the saying "the camel through the eye of the needle" in the Gospels. Advertisers always us common references in a culture.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

WOW!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Is your major Literature! (Mine would also be if there was a Hebrew/Jewish literature on this website)

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Yes, Torah, The Five Books of Moses, The Pentateuch. My formal education is electrical engineering

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Mine is comp science, 12th grader turning 17 finished the entire Talmud and etc here for 4-5 days

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I am a braggart as well (apparently) !

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I know the Talmud was basic completed around 200 AD, ACE, but I never read it. Tell me does it appear to be more philosophical or theological

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It is practical and philosophical it is hard to realy tell which one is more I would say depends on a tractate the law isn't established in the Gemara/Talmud later scholars use it as a source of establishing/making the law Glad you are interested!

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I basically use scriptures of the KJB Bible, but I've study newer translations of the Books of Moses by Everett Fox of Clark University in Mass, 1996 also one by Robert Alter at Berkley Ca. 2004

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I never learned that, .... I can call myself a Torah-Scholar.... Anyway do you have a question regarding history? probably not...right?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Have done any comparison of the prophesy in Revelation as compared to history or and Old Testament prophesy

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Do you mean Comparing new Testament and Old Testament I am sorry to say But I would never ever read it (it would be dough-able if i am allowed to even when my life is threatened)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I am talking about a new test.. that i won't ever read.... I'm an orthodox Jew or "frum" and i am not allowed to do that!

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Well then use Daniel, there's a end time prophesy of a "God of forces" which will not be the God we know. With my studies this corresponds to science

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I recognize many historical fulfillment of Isaiah, and presently going on and I'm not necessarily considering Christianity. From the wisdom literature there's a saying "the one rejected will become a cornerstone", this is very wise because if one is rejected whatever they become will be something new.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

OK!

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Are there any Levitt's that you know? Or any practicing.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yes of course, they exist/live in almost any community

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Have they gone through the ritual in Numbers about Chapter 16

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

what Chapter 16 are you talking about?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

The English Bible were broken into Books, Chapters, and Verse about 1200 ACE for easy reference

OpenStudy (kenljw):

In Numbers there's rituals for Nazarene's and Levitt's I preformed the Levitt ritual on myself, the best I could, 7 years ago. The shaving of the entire body.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I haven't trimmed my beard or hair around my temple since

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So you are christian?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I call myself a Hebrew Christian, which mean I have my Lord's in my life. If you read Malachi God say's he will accept the sacrifice of Judah and Jerusalem when the Levitt's come back. In Ezra it say's the Levitt's wont come back until the Urim and Tummim come back.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Excuse me I mean Lords not Lord's, As in the prophets I consider the Father and as a Christian the Son.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Hebrew Christian, did you convert into Christianity (b/c I'd then call you a Jewish-Christian, being that acc. to my faith anyone who converts to another faith from Judaism still remain a Jew)

OpenStudy (kenljw):

No, as far as I know, I'm 62 years old and was raised under the Latin Mass, Roman Catholic, in the 50's to mid 60's. My reading say's anyone that follows Moses is to be consider Jewish.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

62... I'm turning 17, in 12th grade

OpenStudy (kenljw):

A healthy long life to you, my understanding is the half the formal world population of Jews live in the US. Where do you live?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Never mined, I just read your Bio's.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Bio's? Profile you mean? how was it? Good?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Okay, read mine What's the Orthodox position on suicide?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

You are just like me, pretty much! Also for 4 days! But I am only 17

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

can we give medals to each other? :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

this is a good conversation and deserves medals for both...

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I have a niece who converted the Judaism when she got married. The have two children, boys. The older one, about 22, just committed suicide and no one can figure out why. His parents are presently going through a divorce but that's an accepter Jewish policy though frown on by Christ.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Anyway what are your best solving-areas mine are Math, History & Economics, (respectively)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So she converted b/c of love?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

yes, I had a male friend in Ca that converted to marry also.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Is there a word like convertion? ... Anyway you know that acc. to Judaism converting b/c of love (not truly) isn't really considered converting?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Do you eat kosher, I've been eating kosher for about 9 years, several years ago I decided to become a vegetarian because I didn't like the way the animals were treated

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Me? Of-course I am orthodox and etc Finished the entire Talmud, no joke! I am working on getting a Rabbi Diploma ("smicha") for job I won't be a rabbi though, ..... tech, comp science!

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Do you mix dairy and meat? separate cooking and eating utensil

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Definitely not!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Separate meat from milk!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Not even fish and meat at the same table

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Why, in Exodus chapter 23 "do not seeth a kid in it's mothers milk" it has a specific meaning to me. The male parent must teach the child the ways of the world that the mother may not know.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I consider all animal flesh meat.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I terms of mixing a w/ milk?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I only know an answer that is based on my faith

OpenStudy (kenljw):

all Torah have meaning other than literal. Example in Leviticus where it say's "Do not round the corners of your head or trim you beard", usually the first part is interpreted not to cut your hair at the temple, but I also see where it means don't compromise not even the corners

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

True! The Torah does not always have a literal meaning!

OpenStudy (kenljw):

There's an outward sign to an inward being. Again do not mix different threads materials into cloth. This means do not mix your religions with others, I consider Christianity an extension, continuation.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

extension, continuation of Judaism?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Yes, actually people really understand this but Christ became Zion especially after the temple was destroyed in 70 ACE

OpenStudy (kenljw):

don't understand

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Christ became Zion? he came from Zion... he was a Jew

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Yes he is a Jew, Zion initially ment the Temple in Jerusalem, with it's destruction a non-earthly Zion was required.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Do you know what I/Jews think about how he initially was a real, religious Jew, but then (all of the Sudden) abandoned/left the Judaism? Do you believe that?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Animism, spiritual objects and places as relics of Holy places to me are Idols. My Lords are what its all about. Christ didn't reject Judaism he was to preserve it knowing what was to come. 70 ACE when the temple was destroyed and a million Jews killed, or in 135 ACE when 600,000 where killed in Judea and Jerusalem. At that time there where about 6 million Jews and over 100 years there were 6 million Christians. I think the problem occurred when they liked up with the Romans which actually changed Christianity.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

To my opinion the Christianity went out of being jewish when it's believers announced Jesus as God and....

OpenStudy (kenljw):

As the Talmud actually changed Judaism I don't believe that, I believe in the Father and the Son, I do have a problem in how the Holy Spirit is interpreted.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

The Talmud was how some Jew decided to preserve Judaism

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Not having the Temple to focus on anymore they decided more toward a teaching other than the Torah

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

B/f when you wrote "As the Talmud ... I don't believe that", I think you missed my point I wasn't arguing against Father and Son, I was saying that Christianity was part of judaism at some point, but when (some of) the Jews announced Jesu_ as god, then it became a separate faith.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

As I said I more believe he is Zion, the focus of the religion.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Did the ancient Jew consider the Temple God?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Now "The Talmud was how some Jew decided to preserve Judaism" I don't think it is true, it is an accepted rule/guide/law of the most of the Jews. It is (to ppl like me) just as un-disobey-able as Torah (since it is basically an interpretation of it, applied to know/learn-out/figure-out a modern/practical law(s)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Did the ancient Jew consider the Temple God? I don't get your question

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

comma b/w temple and god?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

The focal point as the Holy of Holy's in the Tent in the Torah

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

was the temple a God acc. to the ancient jewelry?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Is that what you meant?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

YES Holy of Holy's in the Tent, the most important place acc. .....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I'm kind of losing you

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Just because the focus point is not God, Christ was a focus

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

acc to Christianity

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

"Just because the focus point is not God, Christ was a focus" you didn't mean this about Judaism ... you know that Jews don't believe in...

OpenStudy (kenljw):

It actually has to do with being human, as a group there's more power then one. When we focus it actually releases power, in Christianity it called communion

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

true that group has more power! Unfortunately also when it comes to harming/doing evil as well!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

"as a group there's more power then one. When we focus it actually releases power" this is a little bit of a riddle to me

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

what do you mean that it release power?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

It's hard to communicate certain concepts I have because you don't have entirely the same teaching. In the end of Revelations there's to be Temple to the Father and Son. There's a definite distinction and there both honored.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

In my life I've experienced Telepathy which can be considered spiritual communications if one doesn't know the source

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I've been spiritually controlled, and I've heard spirits speak through other people. Most people live there lives without these experiences and really don't know how or if there effected.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I truly don't know if it a function of age or not. Look at our country, the only requirement to hold an elected office is age, 21, 30, 35 why is that?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Wisdom comes with age, but does anything else

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Consider the word Love, a warm attachment, is there actually a physical connection or is it just an illusion.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Sorry for not replying yesterday, the owl came and told me "don't let your heads spin", b/c the page was open for too long.
