Can there be a ionic bonding between a metal and another metal? If so what are the examples?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

i dont think so , for a ionic bond you need a nigh electronegativity difference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well den an ionic bonding is between what??

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

an atom with high electronegativity (non-metal), and an atom with low electronegativity (metal), can form an ionic bond

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok...thanx for describing it to me so properly

OpenStudy (aaronq):

One of the metal atoms would have to be negatively charged and the other positively.

OpenStudy (ryjhbl):

between two metals metallic bonding can take place, but for ionic bond to happen the parameter is a metal and a non metal.
