sqrt27x^4y^6

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

since 27 is not a perfect square we leave it alone, divide the exponents of the variables by two , since sqrt means raised to 1/2. and then put out the varables with the exponents outside the radical :)

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

hi, do ya want to simplify this ? \[\sqrt{27 \ \times \ x ^{4} y ^{6}}\] then.. \[(27x ^{4}y ^{6})^{1/2}\] \[3^{3 \times \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }} x ^{4\times \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }}y ^{6\times \frac{ 1 }{2 }}\] \[3^{\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }}x ^{2}y ^{3}\] Hope this will help ya out!!!!
