Solve -2/3x > 8 or -2/3x < 4. {x | -12 < x < -6} {x | x < -12 or x > -6} {x | x > -12 or x < -6}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's solve -2/3x > 8 first. How do we get rid of the -2/3 on the left side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you add 2/3 and what you do to one side you do it to the other side and tats pretty much the only thing i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you don't add 2/3 to both sides. you multiply by -3/2. if something is multiplied to your x...to get rid of it you multiply by the reciprocal of your number on both sides. multiply both sides by -3/2 (which is just -2/3 flipped upside down)

Also, with inequalities, when you multiply both sides by a negative...you have to remember to change the direction of your > to <

okay so the answer would be the 1st one den
