1. Why did early humans develop music? What are some of the ways that they were thought to create music?
(this is not an answer i would use for a report. It is an opinion) I would say they developed music for entertainment. Music can be produced in every way. (lyrically, instrumentally, etc.) (this i would use!) Some ways they created music was trough instruments carved out of bones, and in caves marked with red dotes. They were marked because in that area the sound was the best.(Pech Merle is a French cave that has red dots on the ceiling to note these special acoustic spots in the cave. There are also similar red dots on some of the walls. These spots seem to note places where sound would best echo and carry through the cave. It may be that prehistoric people used their voices or other items in these spots to fill the cave with sound. Some studies on French caves have suggested that many of the cave paintings, in addition to marks like the red dots, appear at places in the cave where the natural echo is strong ).Also, they had chants, and a collection of hymns. Chants used for religions, and hymns used for rituals. Most music was not able to be written, and if it was not many survived over the years. Later you will find more pieces written, this is because they made a printing press (many years afterward) Then the music just would continue to change over the years, and become what is known today! ☺ ♪ ♫ ♪ There is some good information, but don't copy and paste! Hope i helped. Good luck!! ☻ This is the flute thing: In 2009, a group of researchers unearthed a primitive flute made from a hollow bone of a griffon vulture. The flute is thought to be 35,000 to 40,000 years old, and it is possible that it was made by Neanderthals, who lived during this time period in the part of Germany where the flute was found. The flute had five air holes along the hollow tube, and scholars say that the flute would have been capable of playing complex melodies. An experimental archaeologist even made a reproduction of the flute and was able to play "The Star Spangled Banner" on it.
