How would u say to about a group of boys as the subject pronoun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A "subject pronoun" is a word that takes the place of a noun. Look at these two sentences: 1. The boys went to the lake. 2. THEY went to the lake. Instead of saying "the boys," we could instead say "THEY." "They" is the subject pronoun, because it takes the place of "the boys." ------------ In Spanish, the word for "they" is ELLOS. That's when we're talking about any group of people, where there is at least one boy. When we're talking about a group of girls, we use the word ELLAS.
