How does: e^x(-sin(x)+cos(x))+e^x(cos(x)+sin(x)) simplify into: 2e^x(cos(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the distributive Law for each part and combine like terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So when you are distributing e^x and multiplying it with -sin(x), does it become -e^x(sin(x)) OR e^x(-sin(x)). Or does it not matter?

hartnn (hartnn):

e^x(-sin(x)). means you have still not distributed so, -e^x(sin(x)). is correct term after distribution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. Thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

and could u simplify that to 2e^x(cos(x)) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, everything made sense after I distributed.
