-|-2- 4| = 6 or -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6

OpenStudy (ranga):

-|-2 - 4| = -|-6| = -6

OpenStudy (rina.r):

its = to 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but two -'s make a positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

negetive outside bracket makes negative 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope ! I think we have : |-2-4|=|-6|=6 and -(+6)=-6 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since |-2-4| has absolute value brackets it makes it positive 6. But because you have a negative in front of the brackets your positive 6 is multiplied by -1, giving you -6.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-I-2-4I=-I-6I=-I6I=-6

OpenStudy (ranga):

@shandapanda The || in -|-2 - 4| is not a bracket. It is called an absolute value or a modulus operator.
