I need to have a new well dug at my house. It is going to cost $1200 just to get the workers to my house, and then cost $45 for each foot down that must be dug. This is an example of what kind of sequence?

Wiki says about Arithmetic sequence: "Arithmetic sequence is a sequence of numbers such that the difference between the consecutive terms is constant." Which sounds pretty much like what you have here.
