find the value of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is an isosceles triangle. There is a saying the two angels facing the two sides that are the same in length means the two angles are congruent. Therefore, set the two equations you have which are in definition the degrees, equal to each other and then solve for "x" .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how to solve for x i forgot sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[[3x+8+3x+8+x=180^{0} you can solve for x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you this tell me the answer please i have to get this in before my time is up is it two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I seem to have read the picture incorrectly. Please follow MathsStar's solution example. Sorry in advance. I did not realize that the 2nd angle is on the outer bounds of the triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7x+16=180^{0}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then x = 23.43

OpenStudy (anonymous):

degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how will i do this question because it has two different set of number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which are ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the value of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello @MathsStar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello Dee can you be specif wats ur question? Do u wnat me to solve it agian or wat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gave it to you find the value of x and i attached a file

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x+3x+8+3x+8=180\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is because some of the interior angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7x+16=180\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that results from adding the like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7x=164\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then x= 23.42857143 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you say your answer is 23 degrees . when you subtitute where you see x inside the triangle it does not give you 180 but it give you 177. But if you subtitute the exact value you got fromthe calculator as it is then you get a sum of 180 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you this give me the answer to my question please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

23.42857143 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont have that as my answer choices the answer choices i have are a. 10 b.15 c. 20 d. 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MathsStar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then we can use supplementary angles if we look in the options given the write answer will be 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5x+12+3x+8=180\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8x+20=180\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8x=160 then x=20^{0}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

goood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help with my other one please
