If P(x) = 2x^4 + 6x^3 - 5x^2 - 7x + 6, D(x) = 2x^2 - 3 and P(x) is written in the form P(x) = Q(x)D(x)+R(x), what is R(x)?

OpenStudy (hba):

We don't know what's D(x),eh?

OpenStudy (hba):

Q(x)*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hba It's not stated here.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

hi, divide P(x) from D(x) ... the remainder is R(x)

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u can use long division if u like :P

OpenStudy (ranga):

Divide P(x) by D(x). Q(x) is the quotient and R(x) is the remainder.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u will get quotient as --> x^2 + 3x -1 and the remainder as 2x + 3 so... R(X) = remainder = 2x + 3 hope this will help ya!!

OpenStudy (ranga):

^^^ correct!
