If there was a sudden drop in temperature after evolution of the first living cells, predict how that might have affected the changes in the atmosphere and the evolution of cyanobacteria and autotrophs.
sudden drop in temperature, how much of a drop are we talking about? Any lowering of temperature will a) decrease the kinetic energy of the relevant substance b) likely take conditions away from optimum in terms of metabolism (i.e. not the best temperature for chemical reactions)... I guess a really general answer is that evolution would happen at a slower rate and given this is happening at the beginning of the cells, this would likely seriously affect the cells adaptivity and create a whole different tree of evolution. Are you just curious or is this for school?
I'm sure your biology teacher for FLVS has seen this already...
