If a and b are integers and 14/3=a/b, which of the following could be the value of a+b?

OpenStudy (snowfire):

I think you need to post the answer choices

is this it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.) 68 b.)66 c.) 63 d.) 60 e.) 58

OpenStudy (snowfire):

The ratio of a:b is 14:3, so as long as we keep that ratio intact, we can use any set of numbers that fulfills it (any multiples of 14 and 3 will work). 14+3=17, and 4 times that is 68. So now we multiply 14 and 3 by 4, which gives you 56 for a and 12 for b, which fulfills the ratio as well.
