If a line with a slope of 4 crosses the y-axis at (0, 1), what is the equation of the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation of a line in slope - intercept form is: y = mx + b (m = slope, b = the y intercept) Since you the the slope is 4, then you plug in 4 for m. Since the point (0,1) is the Y intercept, you use b = 1. (Note the y intercept is always in the form of (0, b) where the x is always 0) y = 4x + 1
