All real numbers are less than -3 or greater than or equal to 5
@wio
all real numbers that are less than, excuse me
how would I write that as a inequality
i'm having a hard time understanding
x < -3 or x >= 5 ?
Sorry, i dont really know. Are there multiple choices by chance? @compassionate
Yes, the multiple choices are: x < -3 or x >= 5 x < 5 or >= -3 x <= -3 or > 5 x <= -3 or >= 5
All real numbers are less than -3 or greater than or equal to 5 ℝ < -3 or ℝ > 5.
You wouldn't use x. The correct notation is: ℝ By saying, "x," we're implying any set of numbers. (ℝ ± x) = any number.
Okay, I understand that but I was just stating that the multiple choices I was given
@Compassionate
I'm still confused
We want all numbers less than -3, right? So we use a less than sign. ℝ < -3 now we want all numbers GREATER than , right? ℝ > 5 (Real numbers) is just fancy notation being used here. "Real numbers." just means coutning numbers. -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 --- they're all real numbers.
Okay, so the answer in this case would be x (I know the notation should be r) < 3 or 5 >= x
@Compassionate
Yes.
Thank you for your help and patience
