A system of two linear equations has no solution. How is this possible? A. It's not; the graphs of the two equations must intersect. B. The equations are the same line. C. The equations are parallel lines. D. There was an error in solving the system.

OpenStudy (phi):

two linear equations means you have 2 equations: each is the equation of a line the "solution" is where the lines cross. can you imagine drawing 2 lines that do not ever cross ?

whats the answer @petiteme

OpenStudy (phi):

Have you ever heard of 2 lines that never cross? Is it possible ?

OpenStudy (phi):

if you don't know, see http://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/parallel-lines.html

OpenStudy (petiteme):
