Need help solving Three-Variable Systems by substitution ALGEBRA 2 Problem x-4y+z=6 2x+5y-z=7 2x-y-z=1

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

do you know how to solve a 2 variable system of equations by substitution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I already combined e1 and 2 and e2 and 3 I just don't know what to do after that

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

after that you'd have a system of equations of 2 variables, and do the same, substitute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did that and what do i do with the equation i have now.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

did you end up with 2 equations of 2 variables only?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ohh nevermind i got it! haha thank you!!!

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well. the idea behind solving a 3 variables set, is to eliminate one of the variables, thus leaving you with 2 only

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got it thanks

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
