Is the sequence 5, 9, 15, ... an arithmetic sequence?why? Explain.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what defines an arithmetic sequence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then you might want to read up on that ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur here to help or wat

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need to have some basic understanding of it .... which should be available to you in your material. Otherwise I have nothing to work with :/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you have some basic idea (right or wrong) i could try to formula something .. but simply saying 'i dont know' tends to convey an attitutde of just not caring about the subject matter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A sequence made by adding some value each time. Example: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, ... is that right

OpenStudy (loser66):

the baby in your avatar is soooo cute

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good, adding the same amount each time would be a good defining characteristic does this sequence have that property?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5, 9, 15 5+x = 9 9+x = 15 youre right, 4 and 6 are simply not going to cut it so this is NOT an arith seq.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thankx

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck ;)
