I need:
One function, f(x), with two real rational solutions.
One function, g(x), with two real irrational solutions.
One function, h(x), with two complex solutions.
All in standard form.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
well for the first one you know when you factor a quadratic you get (x-?)(x-?) which leads to two solutions so just replace ? with two different numbers and then FOIL/distribute and you get the first equation
OpenStudy (anonymous):
can you try?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(x-2)(x-4)
X^2+4x+2x+8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Or would it be X^2-4x-2x+8

well 4x and 2x would be negative
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the 2nd
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then combine like terms
OpenStudy (anonymous):
X^2-6x+8
