When rolling a number cube, what is the probability of rolling a number greater than 2? A.1/4 B.1/2 C.2/3 D.5/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

total sample space = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 = 6 values, value wanted = 3, 4, 5, 6 = 4 values. possibility is value wanted/total sample space and in this case it'll be 4/6 or 2/3 chance that u get a number larger than 2 its C

c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain that in a simpler way?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol well...possibility of u getting a number of 2 is the possibility of u getting a 3, 4, 5 or 6 on the dice. so 4 chances out of the total available choices which is 6 since a dice has 6 numbers. u want the 3, 4, 5, 6 out of the 1, 2, ,3 ,4 ,5 and 6. u want 4 of them out of 6 so its 4/6 simplify that and u get 2/3
