@agent0smith

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same question different numbers

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

same thing. % change = [(new quantity - old quantity)/(old quantity)] X 100 %

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

New is 961. Old is 1211.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so % of change = [(961-1211)]/1211x 100% right? wanna make sure its right before i start solving

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Yes

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

-0.20644095788 You have to round that off to the tenths place. Making that to 0.2%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt i times that by 100%

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^yes.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@cmenendez55 I used the Google Calculator by just copy and pasting your equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 0.0426178690904119

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^how...?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Check again becuase I checked and found no mistake in the equation.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

[(961-1211)]/1211*100 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i put -0.20644095788 x 100%

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@agent0smith's one there is no difference with the answer becuase you just move the decimal by two places to the left becuase your converting percents to decimals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@calculusxy i put 0.2% and got it wrong

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

ugh!!!!

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

0.2% is wrong... [(961-1211)]/1211x 100 = 20.6 %

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and its not 2% either i only have one more chance or else they give me a new problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @agent0smith i got it right thanks lol

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

All you have to is use the formula exactly as it is written. If you type this into a calculator, as is: (961-1211)/1211*100 then you will get the correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thanks
