An Appeal to all OpenStudy users.

mathslover (mathslover):

Hello everyone! By making this post, I want to request to all OpenStudy users especially who are studying Mathematics here to post questions by using the Sub-Topics feature. It will help the experts and the helpers to help you out as there are some subject wise experts too. It is hard for them to search questions related to their sub-topic. Hence, sub topic feature was introduced on OpenStudy. But, it is not being used by the OS users as it was expected. It will not only help the experts to help here but will also help the askers as they will get a chance to practice their sub-topic related questions or if possible they may help others who are studying the same. Hence, I request you all to chose the Sub-Topic of your question and then post your question. Thanks!

mathslover (mathslover):

Thanks to @ash2326 for giving me the permission to post this here!

OpenStudy (rane):

sure i will from now on @mathslover

OpenStudy (yttrium):

An appeal as well: Physics should be just a subtopic under mathematics. It's so much dead being general topic, alone.

mathslover (mathslover):

Yttrium, we are trying our best to make it active. Do corporate with us!

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Yeah, I am doing my best to cooperate! :D But I believe that if someone puts their question in physics in its area. Very few users can see it. I hope that physics can be considered as subtopic under mathematics temporarily until it become active already. Or if not, give users a permission to put their physics question in math so that many people can see and may help them. :3

mathslover (mathslover):

You can post the link of your question in the chat box of Mathematics. There are some physics experts too , though, thanks for showing concern. I will forward this to mods and admins! thanks

I don't even know where this sub topics features is.

mathslover (mathslover):

Hello @LS1088 - Please find the answer to your problem in the attachment. Notice the arrow there which points towards the list of sub topics available in the Mathematics group. Click on any one of it and then post question likewise. Hope this solved your query. Thanks!

OpenStudy (preetha):

Great post Math. And great idea. Yes, Mods and Ambis, please encourage people to use the subtopics.

mathslover (mathslover):

Thanks a lot Mam!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathslover fyi, when I try to go to to any other forum the forum selection box won't go away when i click on the subject an I cant enter the sub forum. I had to back up and refresh page to get rid of it just to come back here.

OpenStudy (austinl):

What @ehuman ? When you click the Mathematics overall topic, over to the right above the people currently studying Mathematics, there are a bunch of little blue boxes. Click on one of those to have it say a specific sub-topic. Then if you want to go back out to the main Mathematics topic, just click it in the subject bar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@austinL It was not working at the time I posted that comment. The website froze. It has been working since yesterday for me though.

(*_*)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Thats been happening to me too...all of a sudden it says lost connection with openstudy trying to reconnect when every thing on my computer is working fine...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathslover why not make the "ask a question" hyperlink automatically force members to choose a sub category before being able to type question is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@undeadknight26 ur Internet might be disconnecting frequently

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

It is not because i can play online games and stuff while open study trys to reconnect...plus if my internet disconnected frequently i could not do my school work because i am home schooled... :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohk!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think they dont now how :P it not to do with not wanting to. Or it could be both :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can you select the subtopics ?

mathslover (mathslover):

@ehuman , I think that is the best for forcing the users to post questions according to the sub group. I will recommend this to the admins. Thanks! @timo86m - I agree. @portela24 : \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @mathslover Hello @LS1088 - Please find the answer to your problem in the attachment.
