What is the difference between thrust and pressure? And why is thrust a vector quantity but pressure a scalar quantity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thust is a upwar pull, which is a type of foce... that is why it is a vector quantity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pressure=Force/unit area....... as we know that two are more then two vectors can not be devided..... so here we take force and area as an magnitude (scalar) form....and as scalar divided by scalar give us a scalar quantity..... that is why pressue is a scalar quantity

hope u understand on my answer

OpenStudy (kmeis002):

Pressure is defined as a the normal force acting on a unit area. Total pressure is the sum of all forces normal to a surface. This is not a vector. The equation \[ P = \frac{F}{A} \] is referenced the magnitude of the normal force. Thrust itself is a specific force, thats why its a vector.

OpenStudy (kmeis002):

If you are studying some aerospace course and you know what thrust is defined as, we can discuss it as the transfer of mass over a control volume, which relates to pressure.

no not some aerospace course....

thank u...
