OpenStudy (osanseviero):

How to factorize this?

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

\[x ^{4}-69x ^{2}+36\]

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

assume \[y=x^2\]

hartnn (hartnn):

hint : split -69x^2 as -81x^2+12x^2

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

then the eaquation would be \[y^2-69y+36=0\] solve for y then find x :)

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Still dont get it. How can I solve y in that one? There are no two numbers that multiplied are36and added -69

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

use hartnn hint

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

\[x ^{4}-81x ^{2}+12x ^{2}+36\]

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

\[x^2(x^2+9)(x^2-9)+12(x^2+9)-72=x^2(x^2+9)(x^2-9)-9^2 \]
