An old movie you aught to watch with James Steward "Mr Smith goes to Washington". In it he becomes a Senator and ends standing for hours on the Senate floor and holding it, a brilliant performance. I saw this on TV as a teenager when TV was educational and entertaining, this was an example of a filibuster. I question sometimes to what extremes someone holding the floor would go through especially with no support, such as going without food or water and possible urinating and defecating their pants. This would have to be an individual doing whatever they had to do and not just for show.
