Derivatives Review: Find the derivative: cos((x^2)+1)+m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why would m be zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If m is a constant, then its derivative is 0. In that case, the derivative of cos(x^2 + 1) is -2x (sin(x^2+1))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i know if its a constant or variable?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Usually it would say so..but if it doesnt, then you can assume it is a constant.

thanks :)
