what is the difference between rotational motion and circular motion? what is the difference between rotational motion and circular motion? @Physics

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

'Circular motion' describes the motion of ONE point on a circular path. e.g.: The Moon's centre of mass has a (quasi) circular motion around the Earth. 'Rotational motion' describes the motion of a SOLID, that is a COLLECTION of points, . e.g. the Earth rotates about its axis. In a rotational motion, there is an axis or a centre of rotation and all points of the body have a circular motion about this axis. Hence the confusion. ON THE OTHER HAND, the points of the gondola of a Ferris-wheel all travel in circular motions, but the motion of the gondola itself (as a solid) is a circular translation. A point on a circular motion has angular velocity A rotating object has a rotation velocity
