OpenStudy (anonymous):

which pair of slopes could represent perpendicular lines? 1/7 , 7 1/2 , 2/4 -3/4 , 4/3 1/3 , 1/3

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

keep in mind that perpendicular lines have NEGATIVE RECIPROCAL slopes what does that mean? that if one line has slope of say 2 the perpendicular to that will have a slope of RECIPROCAL 1/2 NEGATIVE -1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1/7 , 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or -3/4 , 4/3

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

1/7 and 7 won't work why? because, you do have the RECIPROCAL part, but not the NEGATIVE part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A perpendicular line would have negative reciprocals. -3/4 and 4/3 are negative reciprocals. -3/4 is flipped and turned positive to be 4/3. These are negative reciprocals, so they make perpendicular lines
