CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME WITH MY GEOMETRY WORK , MEDAL AWARDED :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pentagon ABCDE and pentagon A'B'C'D'E' are shown on the coordinate plane below. Which two transformations are applied to pentagon ABCDE to create A'B'C'D'E'? translated according to the rule (x, y) →(x + 7, y + 1) and reflected across the x-axis translated according to the rule (x, y) →(x + 1, y + 7) and reflected across the x-axis translated according to the rule (x, y) →(x + 7, y + 1) and reflected across the y-axis translated according to the rule (x, y) →(x + 1, y + 7) and reflected across the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all dat?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. thats only one question .... /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The third choice, translated according to the rule (x, y) → (x + 2, y + 8) and reflected across the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

translated according to the rule (x, y) → (x + 2, y + 8) and reflected across the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What set of reflections would carry hexagon ABCDEF onto itself? x-axis, y=x, x-axis, y=x y-axis, x-axis, y-axis x-axis, y-axis, y-axis y=x, x-axis, y=x, y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did I help you with the first question or is this the same problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Last one: y=x, x-axis, y=x, y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you did @Gracy_KSL thank you !! im falling far behind in my geometry classes and need help understanding the material and ive been watching videos all day and my heads killing me so im trying to catch up as fast as i can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HeatDude Thanks ! Howd you get that though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh no problem I'm studying Geo too and we can just help each other. so what your other question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What set of reflections would carry triangle ABC onto itself? x-axis, y=x, y-axis, x-axis x-axis, y-axis, x-axis y=x, x-axis, x-axis y-axis, x-axis, y-axis, x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which set of reflections will bring it right back to where it started from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the other side of the X axis like underneathe it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use this --> a point (x, y) and think about what each reflection will do to the point. Which set will take (x, y) -> (x, y)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example, look at the last option: y=x take (x, y) to (y, x) x-axis takes (y, x) to (y, -x) x-axis takes (y, -x) to (y, x) So that isn't it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wait we would need to use the one thats basically beside it on the otherside of the y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

observe that reflecting in y-axis two times brings u back to where u started

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u may need to reflect two times in each axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so would it be the 3rd option ? because you would reflect two spaces over from each point on the x axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i probably sound so dumb right now .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4) y-axis, x-axis, y-axis, x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't worry that's why ur still going to school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha yeah i have one more , and then could you just double check my answers ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one is a fill in the blank and im like completely lost on Trapezoid TUVW is shown on the coordinate plane below. If trapezoid T'U'V'W' represents trapezoid TUVW reflected over the y-axis, the ordered pair of W' is ___________.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this would be 7, 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if that the shape TUVW has ALREADY been reflected. So imagine a mirror or the y axis line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-2, 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7,2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops yes 7,2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you study geometry?
