What are four factors which influence the ways languages change? influence by other languages isolation poetry influence of social or religious groups age of the person using language educational system
what do you think the answer is?
I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
just guess what you think ?
I think one of them will be influence of social or religious groups.
The best way to tackle a problem like this--if you aren't sure of the answer--is to cross out the two that are least likely to be true. Right? If the people are Isolated then there isn't any reason for the language to change. Poetry doesn't seem to be a reason to change. Therefore, it's the remaining ones--which I'll bet it is.
So, you don't want to talk, eh? WELL ve have vays of making you talk!!
I think that "influence by other languages" is the most powerful reason among all of them. e.g Arabs occupied Spain for 8 centuries that's why we find that 10% of the Spanish language are derived from Arabic origins. Also, British and french colonization help a lot in these changes especially in India and some African countries where you can find that they use the language of the colonizer as the official language of the country or use some of English and french words in their daily life.
Yeah, and don't forget about the European invasions and counter-invasions. That's why there are so may French words in the English language.
you are absolutely right and also the ottoman invasion to most of the Arab countries
What is your areas of interest?
HISTORY
I see this is your first day here. I'm interested in lots of areas. History does cover a good deal of ground. Right now, I'm studying the Roman Empire.
I didn't read a lot but it was a great empire, actually it is full of action
Sure was. I didn't think I'd like it all that much. I'm fascinated with Classical Greece, but the Roman Empire's history is turning out to be quite interesting. Right now I'm reading Gibbon's book, Abbot's The History of Julius Caesar, and Life of Cicero by Trollope. Also quite good is a fourteen hour documentary on youtube.
