Christine has scores of 68, 65, 75, and 78 on her algebra tests. Use a compound inequality to find the scores she can make on her final exam to receive a C in the course. The final exam counts as two tests, and a C is received if the final course average is from 70 to 79.

what is your question ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how i know what are you posted ,forgot it ok ?

Start with this: 70 <= Grade <= 79 We need to find an algebraic expression for Grade, and we will be done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To calculate her grade, we would do this: Let x be her exam schore Grade = (68 + 65 + 75 + 78 + 2x) / 6

What next?

Solve 70 <= (68 + 65 + 75 + 78 + 2x) / 6 <= 79 That looks kinda ugly, i know, but I would get rid of that fraction by multiplying all sides by 6 first. A calculator could be helpful.
