a tennis ball is thrown upward from the ground with an initial velocity of 15 m/s a) what is the maximum height attained by the ball?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey, this is a 'projectile' question, so we will need to use the 'kinematic equations' there 3 of them. deciding which 1 of the 3 equations to use depends on what we know from the information in the question. So, listing the knowns from the information given we know: initial velocity we want to find max height. and generally we know that velocity, when the ball is at it's peak, is equal to zero, in the 'y-direction' and gravity is the same as acceleration, so we know that a = -9.81 from everything said, can you pick out which of the 3 kinematic equations to use?
