OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

What is the area of a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it is a 90 degree triangle, the area formula is 1/2 base times height, if it not a 90 degree angle triangle then the area formula is 1/2a.bsinc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@theoryofmars the angles of a triangle=180 degrees not the area

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

It is a right triangle

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

How do I solve if the legs are. 5" 1' and the hypotenuse is. 1'1"

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

@ayesha05

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think 1/2x1x5= 5/2

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

I still don't understand

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

@phi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2 your base x your height = 1/2 of 1 x height =5 so its halfx5=5/2

OpenStudy (phi):

*** How do I solve if the legs are. 5" 1' and the hypotenuse is. 1'1" **** You have to change the lengths to the same units. Do you want the answer in square inches or square feet ?

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

A=1/2.bh A=1/2(12)(5) A=1/2(60) A= 30 square inches

OpenStudy (phi):

if you don't care, let's make it inches one leg is 5 inches another leg is 1 foot = 12 inches the hypotenuse is 1 foot, 1 inch= 13 inches if this is a right triangle, then the legs are the base and height (as a check: 5^2 + 12^2 = 25+144= 169 = 13^2, so it is a right triangle) it looks like you got the correct answer.

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

Hoooray
