What is the sum of 4 times the largest negative integer and the smallest positive integer? (Idk, but I think it's 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its -3 but i dont understand how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 Multiplied by the largest negative integer and smallest positive integer? Well an integer is 0- infinity or infinity to 0 as long as the number is whole and no fraction and is not irregular. I would say the answer is you cannot get it . or its just infinity.

If the answer is really -3 i would ask you teacher, because that really does not make sense.

This is a horrifyingly worded question -- by largest positive integer they mean -1. Most people would consider -1000000 to be enormous and negative but the way the question is worded it appears by "largest" they mean "least negative". In which case the largest negative integer is -1 and the smallest positive integer is +1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
