Medal!!! A 150-unit apartment complex is infested with rats. The apartment caretaker checked 9 units and found the following number of rats: {2, 5, 3, 1, 0, 3, 7, 2, 2}. What is the frequency of units with 2 rats? A. 1 B. 2 C. 3 D. 4
@Mathard would I do the same thing you did with the simialr question?
Im getting 2 for my answer, is that correct?
Basically count how many times the number 2 is in the set. Then divide that by the number of units. Don't add them or multiply them, just count them.
Divide by the number of units checked (since they haven;t checked the other units, you can't know how many rats are there)
okay 9/3=3
correct?
close! but its = number of times 2 is there / number of units checked
as a hint, the total number of units checked will always be the divisor (number below the / )
so 9 units were checked and their are 3 sets of 2. so it wouldnt be 9 divided by 3?
no, backwards. You divide the number of sets of 2 (3) by the number of units checked (9).
okay i got 0.3 doing it backwards
oh wait i misread the question. it says frequency not relative frequency. In that case its only counting the number of times, that's it. Sorry!!
so 3 correct?:)
yes, haha, my bad. made it more complicated
its okay! it happens lol
