all real numbers that are less than -3 or greater than or equal to 5. A. x<-3 or x>=5 B. x<5 or x>=-3 C. x<= -3 or x > 5 D. x <= -3 or x <=5
A seems right!
Do you understand the notation?
how do u figure something like this out though?
x<-3 is another way of saying less then -3 x>=5 is another way of saying greater (OR equal) to 5
the symbol ">" is a greater then symbol the symbol "<" is a less then symbol
Its basically going from common language to mathematical language
im confused.... :/ im sorry my brain and math dont go good can u explain just a little better like okay how do i know what x equals to?
so here x is not one number, it can be a range of numbers.
what grade level do you need this for?
9th
im in algebra 1 .-.
OK so basic algebra type of problem
So normally you have a some like x=3x +3 and you can solve for x. Here x can be RANGE of numbers defined by 'greater than' and 'less than'
Conversely you can define what x is NOT
this should be posted in math not in biology
this is also true
oh i didnt notice i was in biology ahaha
please post in math
u were helping me with math so nicely i didnt notice
these problems are what are referred to as inequalities. Here is a good reference site: http://www.sosmath.com/algebra/inequalities/ineq01/ineq01.html
thanks :)
and the answer is a btw simple math when u do IADA and have the highest grade
