Please help me with this
so if you are looking for the identical x-intercepts, then we know that y must equal zero. so set the equation equal to zero, then solve for x, dose that help...? ^_^ ya no?
still struggling , can you help me a little more with setting them equal to zero
ya ^_^ medal for your honesty!
'f(x)' is a fancy way of saying 'y' so, when I say set y=0, i'm just saying set f(x) = 0 \[f(x) = 0 = \frac{ x+7 }{ x^{2} + 5x - 3 }\] so we will want to factor the denominator, and chances are, there will be a "(x+7)" in it. so can you factor: x^2 + 5x - 3 so it becomes something like this: (x )(x )
okay, im trying, one second
actually, i lied to you :( we need to use the quadratic equation on the denominator to find the values of x
okay lol
you remember the quadratic equation? or should I post it up?
i know it
^_^
ax^2 + bx + c =0
yup, thats part of it
wow, i'm really really really sorry,
I sometimes start teaching without solving it first, and I'm leading you down the wrong path!
I'm making it much harder than needs be. lets start over ^_^ and we will be done in like 3 seconds doing it this new way
okay lol, thank you!
