Use graphing to find the solutions to the system of equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=x^{2}+6x+8 \] y=x+4

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Do you know if you're supposed to use a calculator, or do it by hand? If by calculator, first enter each of those functions on a graphing calculator. If by hand, you'll prob have to make tables of values for the first one.

i have no idea...hahah ummm i can try and see if i can do it in my graphing calculator lol

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

that'd be much faster. Enter the first as one y=, the second as another y=

it looks like this, i think its right |dw:1382834062051:dw|

thats a really bad drawing lol :P

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

lol it's fine :D but to solve it, you might have to press something like... 2nd, then Trace (calc)... idk what calculator you have though...

You want the two points where the two lines touch, you can see them here: https://www.google.com/search?q=x%5E2%2B6x%2B8%2C+x%2B4&oq=x%5E2%2B6x%2B8%2C+x%2B4&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.40004j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8
