If plant utilized H2SO4 instead of water, the plant would release?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

H20? CO2? SO4^2-? O2?

@Kira_Yamato

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

H2O --> O2 H2SO4 would probably release SO4 2- I think... But it may also break down the H2SO4 to give SO3 and H2O, which further gives O2....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then O2?

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

My deduction is either SO4^2- or O2...

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

It depends on the condition. SO4^2- + 4H^+ + 2e <--> SO2 + 2H2O E˚ = +0.17V So in the presence of a strong oxidizing agent, it is possible to get O2
