can any of you answer some questions i have about anime? graghic and design?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do the people creating the background and setting and objects and people make everything so perfect in motion where you can see exactly every movement that an object is making, becouse i know that they dont use the drawings.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean in the movies?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

animated movies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure about movies. I have heard about the motion capture technique developed by Weta digital (LOTR guys) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_capture In the games and basic animation there use sprite sheets. Sprite sheets are basically collection of images showing different motions like walking, talking, climbing etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok that makes sence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually I am not sure but they model the character using software like Maya then I think you can play around with the model. They set axis at important places...like nect, hands and stuff so you can rotate them. I think it is called degrees of freedom. you can check this how dreamwork works http://www.dreamworksanimation.com/insidedwa/productionprocess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanx :-D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np :) are you a design student?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im wanting to go into computer design in animation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K cool! It is a nice field to be in. Do check the Dreamwork's link it explains the whole process very well. There is a good program in Georgia Tech for animation. All the best!

thanx so much!

Blender is an open source version of a 3d rendering program. I am not going to talk about if it is a good or bad choice, but bring it up for another reason. The Blender foundation has made may demo movies and these are coupled with videos on how they do the work. For example, here is Sintel, the movie they made with one of their major project releases: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRsGyueVLvQ Here is the making of video for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN6w6GnN-Ic Here are many short things on technical aspects of it: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL61B7B6547923C101 Through these you can see how there are many different aspects to making even a 15 minute animation. Yes, a single artist will sometimes do a project alone. However, they usually work in teams or reuse pre-made items of others so they don't have to do everything. These videos really expose how much the whole thing takes and why people usually find the part they are best at and work there.
