OpenStudy (amistre64):

this is a piecewise function, which simply means that the way you graph it depends on what part of the domain you are looking at

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f(x) = { 1+|3-x| if x =/ 3 { 2 if x=3 if i see it right |dw:1382971689256:dw| might have the V going in the wrong direction tho

OpenStudy (amistre64):

instead of graphing a continuous function, you seperate the rule to match the domain that it is defined for is all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be opening down?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the absolute value parts, maybe ...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i know that at x=3, y=1, at x=0 y=4 .. might be good like that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the idea tho, is that at x=3, we have a different rule to follow. if x=3, y=2; otherwise we follow the y=1+|3-x| definition of the function

ok thank you!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome
