Help..... giving medals.

Find the next three terms of the sequence. Then write a rule for the sequence. 648, 216, 72, 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at the last 2 terms, 72 and 24. Is there anything you can divide 72 by to get 24? If there is, is it the same thing you divide 216 by to get 72? If so, you've found the rule for this sequence and can find the next 3 terms below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO what is the rule? And the next three terms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

72 / 3 = 24 same as 614 / 3 = 216 / 3 = 72 / 3 = 24 / 3 = 8/ 3 = 2.66/3 = 0.88 so the rule is divide by 3 to get next term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 3 terms are the ones after 24: 8, 2.66, 0.88

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the three terms are 8, 2.66, 0.88?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, just divide by 3. that's all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check for yourself if you want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide those three terms by 3 or is that already the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no those are the answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, welcome:)
