When You are Old by W. B. Yeats When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars, Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled And paced upon the mountains overhead And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

it is used in the second line of the poem, the word nodding most likely means agreeing with someone. trying to keep from sleeping. keeping time with music. saying hello to a stranger.

The correct answer would be "Trying to keep from sleeping" because it does not mention being with anyone so that eliminates the first answer and the last answer, and what does keeping time with music even have to do with the whole poem? XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As it is used in the last line of the poem, the word crowd most likely means to gather around. many people. to pack tightly. a large group.

Well they mention that it is a "Crowd of stars" so it is not many people, because people aren't stars XD, and a crowd isn't a verb so it is not to pack, because that's an action which requires a verb.

and alse "to gather around" is an an action and the word "Crowd" isn't.
