If parallelogram JKLM is rotated 270° clockwise around the origin, what are the coordinates of the endpoints of the side congruent to side KL in the image parallelogram? K'(-4, -6); L'(3, -3) K'(-6, -4); L'(-3, -3) K'(6, 4); L'(3, 3) K'(-4, 6); L'(-3, -3)

2.If pentagon ABCDE is rotated 180° around the origin to create pentagon A'B'C'D'E', what is the ordered pair of point A'? (2, -4) (-4, -2) (-2, -4) (4, 2)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

For your pentagon.. 180 degrees rotation is (A,B) ==> (-A,-B) so (-2,4) -- > (2,-4)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Now, for your 270 degree rotation. (x,y) becomes (-y,x) K - (-5,6) becomes (-6,-5) L - (-3,3) becomes (-3,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im really trying...i just dont understand this at all, thanks though ...

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yo jon why did you copy that from this ? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4fbebd98e4b0dd370c76bbf2

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Don't plagiarize...

OpenStudy (shamil98):

lololol

OpenStudy (shamil98):

anyways bri, do you understand the rotation formulas? for 180 degrees rotation (x,y) becomes ( -x,-y) for 270 degrees rotation (x,y) becomes ( -y,x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm...im still sooo confused, i appreciate the help... so for the first one i got...c And the second one i got b? is that right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHH!! that makes more since, i didnt really understand the formula!

OpenStudy (shamil98):

The first one is B. (-6,-4) , (-3,-3)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Sorry I thought the y original x coordinate was a 5.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

K - (-4,6) becomes (-6,-4)* L - (-3,3) becomes (-3,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There, since shamil is being a wingspan, let him hepl you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for your help jon!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuz you tried jon:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait are you sure that one is B?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thanks ! and for the next one, i rotated it, i think right, i got c ? is that right

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Point A is at (-2,4) what is (-x,-y) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lul

OpenStudy (shamil98):

(2,-4) @brianna98bri is your answer..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks...im starting to get it, thanks for being patient !
